I had my entire geothermal system replaced and additional capacity added to the loop field. Having one professional company that can design and install not only the interior geothermal unit but also do the loop work was great and seamless. I'm also considering a solar system through them as Dan and the staff are just as capable with solar as they are with geothermal.

Geothermal professionals replaced my old oil fired furnace with a 4 ton geothermal system. The drill crew and the inside installation crew were extremely professional, took their time, and did excellent work. In fact, it's one of the best HVAC system installations that I've ever seen. I'm extremely satisfied with the operation of the equipment too.

To start, be prepared for a long wait to get your system. This is a smaller company that pays attention to detail. You can always check where you are on the schedule on their website so you can easily plan. While you are waiting, if your old system has issues, they will maintain them until your turn comes. The digging crew was fantastic. Once our unit was installed, we heard a pounding noise when the heat was being used. We had to call several times to have someone come investigate and fix it but they did come back out and fix the issue. We haven't had issues since then. They call you to schedule your twice yearly maintenance. We experienced -40° wind chill weather with this system over the winter and the emergency heat only had to kick on for about an hour. The system was able to keep up really well otherwise. My only complaint is that the actual thermostat on your wall and the app are a bit outdated compared to other digital thermostats out there. It would be great to be able to run a report and compare year to year usage on my own. Would love to upgrade when/if that is possible. I waited until we got through winter to write the review so that I knew what it was like for AC and heat.

Dan, the owner, and I had a nice long conversation one night several months ago. He answered all my questions (I knew little about geothermal systems). I like the fact that GT is a family owned company with 17 years experience. When I told him I was thinking of donating my nearly new gas furnace to Habitat for Humanity (inspired by Jimmy Carter's work with them), Dan said he would have suggested the same thing. After a couple delays in scheduling the start of the project, which Dan discussed with me knowing I might have to rearrange my work schedule, the drilling crew arrived and got to work. I understood they would drill 200 feet down, so I teased the crew to tell me if they found oil or gold. I briefly entertained the irony of a solar powered oil rig in my back yard. Alas, all they found was a small blue marble, which I keep in my desk. A couple weeks after the drilling was finished, the installation crew arrived. They did an excellent job, explained everything to me and even took away my 8 year old gas hot water heater (probably too old to donate). The system has been running for 16 days now; even when the outside temperature is -2, the inside is a comfortable 69 degrees. The humidity hovers around 30%. I appreciate the fact that they are willing to travel so far (3 hours away by car), their dedication and professionalism, and fantastic customer service. I've already recommended them to several people in my area and look forward to the biannual service visits.

I love this company! Great owners and employees. There is great customer service, and my problems have always gotten fixed.
